This list consists of recently released recordings that are getting attention from "avant garde" DJs at WSUM. Many of them do not show up in our overall "top-40" even though they get played on a regular basis by certain DJs with excellent taste. This list is sent out biweekly as regularly as possible. If receipt of this list is an unwanted nuisance to you, please reply and we'll take you off the recipients list. Archives of this chart can be found at the Breakthrough in Grey Room website: http://www.sit.wisc.edu/~jfheule/breakthrough/. Discs at the top of the list were played the most often. Less minimal, bleak and brooding than Ghost Tropic, but pretty close. The fuller arrangements sound really good and this is a great album overall. "Cross the Road, Molina" seems to be the best example of how this album's differences are for the best. David Parisi (Friday 10pm-12am): Si-cut.db - "Enthusiast" [Bip-Hop]: Chalk up another one for the French label Bip-Hop. Dubbily in your tub tub tubbilies and echoed sounds are presented here with groping and groovy parts for you to move around to. You must take it easy. This is an unspecific method to relieve tension and relax your mind. Also utilizing bounces and whole bodies rolling over to the other side. Comments: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our FM kick-off went off well. Thanks for sending the giveaway stuff and thanks for your continued support. Also, the music department's email program got deleted and we lost all of our old mail. Fortunately, I had backups of my address book. However, if you sent me any email in the last month or so and did not yet receive a response, please send it again. --Jacob Heule (Program Director / Experimental Music Director)
